Marky boy says hello
Sneak Peek

No this not spam just the nickname of my new camera. I finally plunged into the deep recess of the ocean and fished out a (hehe just being dramatic ;p) Canon 5d mark 2.

Poor boy hasn’t really gotten much of an outing until my shoot last weekend.

Anyway just a post to welcome my new baby to my long list of equipments (which I sometimes wish was longer ;p). So my Canon 40d will get a well needed rest and be relegated to my second body. Still thinking of what to do with my first dslr – the Canon 350d.

Ps: I think my camera’s are male and I call them my babies ;p

Interview on NTV 7 - Bella

17 April 2011

In preparations to the exhibition, we were interviewed on NTV 7s weekly LIVE talk show Bella.
Our hosts for the afternoon were Elaine Daily and Deborah Henry. Right from the moment we got the call, I was freaked out as this was my first tv interview and it didn’t help one bit that it was a live programme. What if I said the wrong thing, wrong word or went ooo aahhh eee?

Thankfully I didn’t blurt out but ended up talking non stop – hehe verbal diarrhoea ;p I had fun with the gals though as we were all so nervous we had to crack jokes for relief.

WOMEN:100 Photography Exhibition
Women 100: Photography exhibition

I finally got to go visit our exhibition in collaboration with Kakiseni’s Women 100 festival on 2 May. I had been away on holiday in Thailand during the start of the exhibition. The exhibition entitled “Beauty Through the Eyes of Four Female Photographers” started on 28th April and will end on 8 May 2011.

It is being held at Level 4 on the Sky Bridge (in the centre court) of Pavilion in Kuala Lumpur.

It’s super exciting to have 2 exhibitions running concurrently at two venues in KL. I must say no matter how many times I see my work hanged up for exhibitions, it still gets me all thrilled and excited. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to bask in the exhibitions with all the running around and travelling I’ve been doing in the last month. It’s been crazy but rewarding.

I got to work with Five Arts Centre, Lapar Lab and Instant Cafe and created images based on the synopsis of the performances. I will write more on the photography challenge and ideas we created once the exhibition is over.

Please do visit the exhibition space which I’m sharing with 3 talented female photographers, Evelyn Lam Lip Lin, Naomi Aw Shui Ching and Sharon Lam. It is truly amazing to see our ideas transformed into photos and art on display. The exhibition is the last part of the successful Women 100: festival.

Those who want to get a copy of the photos can do so by purchasing the postcard box that contains all the photos exhibited as well as one extra photo.

A little bird told me they had to reprint more copies as the first batch was nearly sold out! Woohoo. There’s also been requests to purchase the photos.

So here’s a sneak peek of the exhibition which I hope you guys will catch before it ends.

Do let me know what you think about it if you did visit ;)
