Guna Sundari and Dev Indran’s wedding took place in Johor. I only managed to meet her on her wedding day as none of us were free to meet before the date in KL or JB. So till then all our communications were via email, sms and phone calls. So it was definitely a moment for me to meet the petite doe eyed bride as she was getting ready at her house.
I arrived in JB and headed straight to my usual hotel to check in before refreshing to head to their place. I was to meet her brother-in-law who would be directing me to her place in Ulu Tiram.
As usual people were amazed to see a lady photographer; I must say it has its perk as they’re usually quite welcoming to the photo requests. Right after I rushed to the wedding hall in Skudai. The wedding decorators Shankara had done an amazing job, as the decor was superbly stunning. The peacock kolam was huge and such a sight to behold. The simple hall had been transformed into a lovely place.
I absolutely loved the dancing musicians on the pillars and all the ganesha motifs near the stage and entrance. The world is definitely small, it turned out I knew the priest who would be conducting their wedding as he had been with a temple around my place before.
I met Dev, the groom as he arrived at the hall and we had a brief chat before the ceremony began.
My only problem with them, is I had to keep reminding her and her husband to smile! So throughout the ceremony I was grinning at them to get out a smile from them! ;p
I loved the addition of the OM behind the main dais (manavarai) as it gave such a beautiful background and has inspired a future Wedding Ideas post.
As I had mentioned in an earlier post – I had a moment’s panic attack when at the most crucial moment I couldn’t see the couple. I remember looking at Sundari and seeing the same look on her face but it all turned out well and I must say I loved the shot and the one’s that followed after.
Overall it was a beautiful wedding with friends and family who remained till the end and followed the couple back to their respective homes.
Congratulations again you two ;)
